Hello here again got my cc letter from consultant to oncologist on thursday 6th november results as he told me on the 8th october when the letter was dictated, it was typed on the 22th (yes that is not a typing error) nothing developed till I complained on the 31st of october that I still had heard nothing and they faxed oncology the letter. Thus my oncology appointment is for 2 december, I have complained and they are trying to get an earlier appointment but not holding my breath. Feel like a right winging cow but I just want it over with is anyone else having these problems? the stress is really getting to me now

Try the PALS office.  Patient Advice and Liaison Office.  Main Hospital reception will show you the way,  If you phone, they should ring you back quite soon.  They are usually out and about round the hospital making things right.  If they are any good.

    Good luck

Hello had a call yesterday seeing oncologist on Monday but breast care nurse said it will be another 6 weeks before I have radiotherapy I dont think this is right all the information I have says that treatment should start 4 weeks after surgery my op was on 22 Sept so my appointment time is 8 weeks after surgery add another 6 and that is 14 weeks after surgery. Feeling very upset about whole thing. Going to try Pals Thanks for listening Caroline

Caroline, I don't know what to say.  I found myself suppressing myself from screaming in the kitchen and stomping my feet for fear I would cause alarm in my house!  Geezus!  Please keep us posted and call Pals and MacMillin nurse and if you have a primary care doc, them too.  Unacceptable.  Best, Lori

PS  Sometimes here in the US, the docs don't know these details.  They leave it up to their staff to handle.  Your onc may not know that this has been set up as your schedule.  You might want to put a call into or send a handwritten private note to your onc as well.  You know, before you call "pals".  A veiled threat.  Has worked for me.  :)
