Following on from the delight of dahlias springing up from the flowerbed, my attention has turned since then to more autumnal developments and turning my gaze downward: a stormy weekend with winds bringing down the chestnuts and the "garden floor" (in other words, the soggy garden moss that I call a lawn) has produced its own unique world. Fungus! Chestnuts! Leaves! All heralding the change of season, and this in turn mirrors the progression of my chemo cycles which move slowly onwards, but somewhat stalled with an additional week off needed. On the theme of feeling alone, and a bit depressed by this delay, I was jolted into joy once again, by spotting these two little fungi friends - how sweet they seemed, popped up out of nowhere, enjoying the lush dampness of the mossy grass. The looked like two little "besties" sharing a secret!
