I've not update my blog in ages. I found it quite cathartic at first, writing all my emotions and experiences down. Then the whole chemo cycles just began to feel so normal that I didn't feel I needed to document them.
I had my 6th chemo session yesterday. 2 more to go then it's surgery. The chemo has been going ok. I was on AC chemo for the first 4 cycles and now I'm on Paclitaxel. Other than a mouth ulcer and poorly toe nail delaying my first paclitaxel session by a week, everything has gone smoothly. Ultra sound scans show that the cancers in my breast and armpit are shrinking. Albeit not by massive margins but shrinking is better than growing so we're classing this as a success. Extra side effects such as oral thrush, insomnia, horrific indigestion and heartburn have been contended with and now I'm having epic hot flushes! As my cancer is oestrogen receptive, I'm on injections to stop my ovaries from doing what they do, and thats welcomed a lot of menopausal treats. Whoopy-doo! I guess having no hair is a bonus when the hot flushes hit, and I'm glad we're in the colder months.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
