It’s a really exciting time at Macmillan Campaigns HQ: the Welfare Reform Bill is about to go into report stage, and this is our final chance to influence MPs to change the bill before it moves to the House of Lords. We need your help to put the fair into welfare and make sure that those affected with cancer don’t lose out on the support they need.
You can ask your MP to speak out against these cuts for cancer patients and their families by taking action here on our campaigns page. By doing this your MP can speak out against the Bill and propose changes to give cancer patients and their families a fairer deal.
All it takes is a few details and a click of a mouse! Afterwards you can pass it on to friends and family to help spread the message far and wide.
In our podcast Julian and Karen, two people living with cancer, explain the devastating impact the changes to the benefits system will have on their lives. Listen to the podcast here and feel free to post your thoughts and feelings on the issue. What do you think of their stories? Have you had a similar experience?
We’ll give you an update soon about more ways you can get involved in our campaign and spread the word to put the fair into welfare. Until then we would love to hear your thoughts on this, are you worried about the effects of the proposed changes on you and your family? Have you had a response from your MP?
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
