As the year is drawing to an end, it’s just the beginning for our General Election campaign, Cancer: Time to Choose. This is week three of our six month campaign calling on all political parties to make cancer care an election priority. And already more than 4300 people have been snapping their support or signing our pledge.
From all over the UK people have been sending us their selfies and choosing the issue they want to be high on the agenda in the 2015 elections. We’ve even had pets joining their owners in support of the campaign.
It’s not just the public that have been getting involved, on the 15th November hundreds of Macmillan staff from across the country organised walks to kick start Cancer: Time to Choose.
We hope the New Year will bring fresh commitments from all political parties to ensure cancer patients are diagnosed early and receive the best possible treatment and support. We must demand health services that support, comfort and protect the dignity of everyone affected. And, make it possible for each person to die in the place of their choice.
From all of us at Macmillan, we want to say a big thank you to all those people who took the time to get involved. Every picture and pledge represents important public support for people affected by cancer. Now the festive season is upon us, join us in spreading spread the word.
