Now it’s time to meet your candidates

1 minute read time.

With less than six weeks to go until the General Election the coming days are vital to ensure the 2.5 million people living with cancer receive the best possible care and support. Right now, not everyone with cancer is getting the support they need and we need your help to change this.

What you can do

At the end of March all MPs will leave the House of Commons and your parliamentary candidates will start campaigning locally for your votes. They will be interested in your views, so this is a great opportunity to promote the issues that matter to you. By campaigning locally you can help shape the political agenda for the next five years.

Why not attend a hustings event?

A hustings is a public gathering where candidates standing in the area get together before the election to answer your questions and tell you what they'll do if they're elected. This is your chance to ask them about what matters to you. Find out more in this short video.

Watch the hustings video on YouTube.

Thanks to the support of our campaigners so far, all the main political parties have improving cancer care on their agenda. Now we need to make sure that your future MP will champion cancer care in the new parliament after May 7th.

We've created a guide to help you campaign in your area during this vital time: Download your guide to campaigning locally and help Macmillan make cancer care an election priority.
