1 minute read time.
Well i am so tired today i went to hammersmith had to be there at 8.15am for my CT scan all went according to plan then i had to get to northwick park before 11.30 to see onco, That was a bit of a trek but got there and she told me that she had applied for a trial treatment which i knew nothing about she said it might be an option but good news sort of anyway they have to test my cancer to see if it will work and if it does i will get the basic chemo plus the new drug and if it doesnt i will still get the basic chemo. Not sure which way round whether its going to be surgery first or chemo first she has to meet with surgeon after friday thats when i have micro bubble scan but they will let me know next monday or tuesday Well i have waited 8 weeks so whats one more She said i was really lucky she applied for 2 of us and i got it the other person didnt get it now i feel guilty i know its not my fault its the post code lottery rearing its ugly head again why do they have to do that to people its not fair anyway i have to stay positive about whats going to happen to me i hope to have more news next week Thankyou for all your support during this unbelievabley wierd time for me and my family xxxxxxx

Don't feel guilty.  It could be that the other person had more of a chance without the trial.so you seemed to need it slightly more.  It is all very complicated, and it seems that there is this question.  I'm not your oncologist, but we have people on here who say their nearest and dearest went in for surgery and they couldn't do it because the cancer was too near something vital.  If you have the chemo first, it will be because you have a better chance with the surgery if the cancer is shrunk first,  If you have the surgery first, it may be that they feel they can get the cancer out really cleanly and the chemo will then only be mopping up stray cancer cells.  Let the consultants sort it all out between them.  Just lie back and get someone to peel you a grape.
