Well its been a while since i did a blog and a few things have happend
Went for chemo 3 weeks ago and didnt get it due to platelets being low they were at 80 but still had trial drug which was good but it took so long i always have to be there before 9am and that week i got out at 7.30 luckly my cousin bought me home i was exhausted.
The following week the exact same thing happend platelets were at 98 still not high enough did get trial drug but still didnt get out of there till 8pm and had to come home by bus and train didnt get in till nearly 10 i was dead on my feet.
Last week wow what fun i had i already called and requested to see onco because of all the messing about saw her and got a few things sorted out like i can have my chemo if platelets are 80 or above and if there are any problems she is to be the one they contact straight away no other onco well platelets behaved themselves they were at 109 whoo hoo i got my chemo and trial drug still didnt get out of there till late but a lot happier.
This week went to have just trial drug and would you believe it platelets are at 179 the onco is confused and so is everyone else i really didnt care because i wasnt due to have chemo {do really care just wasnt in the mood lol}. well along came the nurse to give me trial drugs and they have to be put in over the course of 1 hour well to say she fucked up is underesterminating things a bit i got the drug in 30 minutes and then the shit hit the fan they started running around like a bunch of headless chickens which would really have been funny if i wasnt a little scared kept checking on me every few minutes checking my blood pressure and heart rate but i was fine thank god only hands are bruised and arm is a little sore but otherwise im feeling very well.
It is saturday now and im starting to wonder what next friday has instore for me im starting to hate fridays as much as i used to hate mondays when i was at work lol well only 10 more trial drug appointments so should finish them on the 3rd april 09 and then i only have the chemo so just wait and see what happends

My goodness you've been through the mill lately haven't you?!! That must have really exhausted you, such long days without all the travelling. I'm so glad you didn't have any dangerous effects from the nurse's mistake but no wonder you don't look forward to Fridays!!! Sending you a big hug.
I am sorry to hear your platelets arent behaving and youve been mucked around - very frustrating - especially when you arent feeling on top form. I know the feeling about hating Fridays - its Wednesdays for me. Never mind youve made it this far and now things are clearer re your platelet levels and allowing the chemo to go ahead things might settle down. As for the drip going through too quick - they always check the drip rate twice on my chemo unit to be sure - you could always remind whoever starts the drip how long it should take to run through. Roll on April when you finish the trial drug - I hope it is working for you - have they said if they are going to scan you again soon? Your doing really well Rose, love and hugs Jools xxx
Rose what are they doing to you? you were so supportive to me the other day when I was having chemo I feel you should at least get yours done properly!. Maybe next week they will get it right. What is your trial drug?
My chemo will be on friday 13th Feb next so we will be in together, well in different places but we can support each other.
Hello Rose - well, you've certainly been through the wars haven't you? I was exhausted just reading the Blog, so goodness knows how I would have handled the real thing. Still, it's amazing the strength we have, isn't it? Where the bloody hell do we get it from? I for one am glad we do seem to have these great reserves of "fight back", as it's seen me through a few rough times too.
