Bowel Cancer Awareness month

1 minute read time.
Could you spare a couple of hours to show your support for all those affected by bowel cancer and help raise awareness of the disease during Bowel Cancer Awareness Month. If so, why not sign up for our ‘Bringing Up the Rear!’ awareness raising walk in Hyde Park on Saturday 18th April 2009 and help us put bowel cancer on the map. Whether you raise sponsorship or just come along to lend us your support, your presence will make a real difference to patients and their families. The 5K walk starts at Midday on Saturday 18th April 2009 and is suitable for people of all ages, including children. Hyde Park is one of London's Royal Parks and is also one the largest green spaces in Central London. We will be walking along the Princess Diana Memorial Walk, which features many of the Park’s main attractions such as The Serpentine and the Boy and Dolphin fountain. Whether you live in or outside London, why not make a day of it and visit some of London’s other free attractions after the event! Bowel Cancer UK’s Fundraising Team are organising the walk and Louise Wheeler says, ‘We are hoping for a big turnout in Hyde Park and are asking people to come along with their families and friends, not only to show their support for those affected by bowel cancer but also to help us raise the profile of the disease during Bowel Cancer Awareness Month. Bowel cancer has long been in the shadows and it is high time that the public realise just how many people are affected by this disease and how highly treatable it is if caught early.’ For a registration pack, please contact the Community Fundraising Team on 020 7381 9711 or email community@bowelcanceruk.org.uk
