OK this may not be the correct place to put this - in a blog. BUT there maybe people who look here first and don't wander around the site.
Thinking about the really cold spell we have been having a little light came on in the dim dark recesses of my empty mind. What if people become eligible for this and don't realise?

Just to add if you're under 60 and like us don't qualify for this allowance, but no doubt have high bills like us, there is a petition run by mac to protest against cancer patients not getting it which you can sign!
I think anyone who is ill and living with a life threatening illness who need this help should qualify too!
hi jackie, i think your right my husband has advanced prostate cancer and other health issues and he really feels the cold he is 58 and now is on disability living allowance i get carers money but with it being so cold i think we should get the same money as pensioners do what does anybody else think ?. luralee
i get disability allowance , mobility allowance and to be honest the money i get pays for all my food, and i have enough left to have my heating on all the time...also money left over as well....maybe im lucky as i dont have any other outgoings....of course for people struggling they should get free gas and electric in my opinion but with all the share holders wanting fat profits theres no chance of that...
also for those living on there own i think a phone is vital and should also be provided free of charge for all patients with cancer...but no, we can only afford to drop bombs on people in stupid wars....
