Using the links posted in chatroom

A link posted in the main room space acts in a different way than normal, because you haven’t got the option of opening a new window, or tab, from within the chatroom. It will automatically open itself a new window to work in, the clever little blighter!

So when you want to see the content that another member has offered to the room for viewing you need only move your mouse over it and see it change colour then give a single click with the left mouse button and the link will operate.

This tutorial has been done using Firefox internet browser, if you are using Internet Explorer there are some slight basic differences but the idea is just the same.

By moving your mouse over the link it will change colour  as said earlier (the link is the blue text that is between the thick black lines of type saying nope and what is it) In the next screenshot the link has changed colour to orange, you won’t see the mouse pointer on this secreenshot by the way.

And then a new tab will automatically open and become the screen you are watching

You can see all the other tabs that are open along the tab bar with the two Macmillan tabs on the left that are Grey and then this screen tab in white. They are just above the YouTube symbol.

You can jump between screens by clicking in each of these tabs, which display like files in a filing cabinet drawer and it will come to the front, leaving the others still open in the background. At the right hand side of each tab is a boxed X, it’s red on the tab you are viewing but greyed out on the others. Clicking that X will close that particular tab, even if it’s grey you can close it without having to bring it to the front first.

If you don't have this tab bar showing on your browser you need to tick the box to show it. This is done through clicking on the Tools command and selecting Options and then Tabs. Tick the box that says Always show the Tab bar.
