Hand pain severe at night

Less than one minute read time.

Still on zoladox and anateozole and still being told by gp it's meds side effects. Ok during day but terrible at night - fingers go numb sometimes and hands become stiff and painful. Laid awake I feel like saying enough is enough to this treatment but the next day I bounce back .... Just not sure if I will go the full five years , three years down - any comment mac friends

Hi. I'm on Anastrazole and also get numb arms and fingers through the night. I find having a squeeze ball available brings them round and alleviates the pain. Its definitely the meds.

Hiya Beevergirl, Unfortunately all these hormone inhibitor tablets like Anastrozole, Letrozole etc give similar side effects. Hopefully a squeeze ball will help with the fingers. A lot of joints always tend to get worse at night due to being inactive, they sort of tend to seize up :-(

Are you on any meds to help with bone thinning / osteopaenia / arthritis like Adcal+ Sunvit D3 or Alendronic Acid ?

Maybe it's time to see your GP to try and get another Dexa bone density scan done to see if things have deteriorated since your last one ?

Take care, George & Jackie (breast group)

Thank you all for the comments - I guess you have confirmed it is the meds but sometimes you start to wonder. I have received appointment for dexa bone scan ? I had it just over three years ago just before starting meds so I guess it gives a good base line. I will get a squeeze ball and have it to hand .... Pardon the pun at the side of my bed. Thank you all , you trusty mac friends xx
