The problem with this cancer is that if it is in the lymph nodeds it has spread already, so they don't operate, as this just makes life a lot more difficult with no hope of a cure. Taxol chemo weekly might help - win time if nothing else. My husband is doing pretty well on it, he has the same cancer as your mum. In the same place, anyway. The treatment doesn't cure, and you have to say you want it in my experience. If you read his blog you can see how he's been doing.

    Good luck.

Hi Becki I am sorry to hear this.  Perhaps you should ring the Marsden again and speak to Prof Cunningham himself.  The Royal Marsden is solely a cancer hospital and a place of excellence, not only in the UK but worldwide as its also part of the ICR.  They therefore have the very best expertise at their fingertips.  Other hospitals have cancer centres but as you probably are aware, the Royal Marsden deals only with cancer patients and therefore, in my opinion is the very best.  But, as I say try calling Prof Cunningham to discuss possible further treatment for your mother.
