ovarian cancer ???

Less than one minute read time.
I was just wondering, my Nan had ovarian cancer 9years ago in march and sadly she died after 2weeks of being told, the doctors told her that she had a crumbling spine and that what was causing the pain, untill she lost alot of weight thats when they sent her for scans. Its starting to worry me how the doctors keep missing these early signs of cancer. She could of been saved but because they pushed her away it doesnt help. And now mum has cancer in her gullet they told her it was just indegestion for months and now we are having to work hard to look at different treatments. Its just scaring me to be honest. On my mums side her Mum her nan and 2 auntys died of cancer and then her brother and sister also have cancer too. why dont the doctors take this in to consideration??? xxxxx

    Hi becki 3310

Like your Mam my Wife was miss diagnosed for months, she was first seen in Oct.07 she was not diagnosed until Feb.08 her symptoms feeling if food was sticking in her throat, finding it difficult to swallow, loss of weight, these been classic for oesophageal cancer and been told it could be indigestion even insinuated it was psychological. None of the doctors who examined her ever carried out a full oesophagoscopy all the way into her stomach. I don't want to scare you but unfortunately when they diagnosed my wife in Feb.08 it was terminal she died Oct.08. Im looking at taking the hospital trust to court as they failed in there duty of care by not carring out the correct procedures. Why is it when ordinary people make mistakes they have to take the consequences, but when doctors don't do there jobs properly it's down to work load or stress???
