This "metallic taste" and queasiness are a standard side-effect with many varieties of chemo, and with some radiotherapy.  I don't think it's very helpful for your daughter to be coughing around you, but when you're in the same household it's inevitable that germs will be shared.  The other day I saw a horrible girl deliberately coughing as hard as she could all over people whilst she and a friend were walking round a shop.  She didn't put her hand in front of her face, even, never mind a hankie.  Some people are incredibly selfish and actually seem to think, "Well, I've got it, so I'm going to give it to everyone else".  They don't realise that it is a potentially serious thing for vulnerable categories.

Forgive me, Barbara for losing track of where you're up to, and whether you have had the actual staging and treatment confirmed yet.  The site is growing so much now that it's getting easy to lose people.  Have you got the booklet on Lung Cancer from Cancerbackup?  They are reasonably small booklets and the information including side-effects and treatment is thoroughly but concisely explained.  xxx Penny
