Day 52 Bertiebassetts return Journey.

1 minute read time.

Friday morning we got the date through for admission for Bone Marrow Transplant, it is the 7th December. Now I have mixed feelings about this transplant. Firstly Bert needs to be in remission and we wont find that out until nearer the time, he also has to have a variety of tests on his heart, lungs, kidneys & liver oh and they also have to make sure he has no STD's or HIV..Before they do the Aspiration to find out if he is in remission.

They have a flat n the Beatson so I am going to try and book that and just stay off work  as long as I can bearing in mind that I still have the mortgage to pay. I will be fine if I am not off sick myself. Anyone want some kidney stones I need to get rid of them !!!.

We have an appointment at Haematology on Thursday to discuss all these test then on the 26th to remind us how dangerous it is for Bert being an old man (at 57) to have this procedure done. and everything that is likely to go wrong. So it's all scary now.

Was really pleased for A&T and their great news, now they can get on with planning their wedding.

Love Teri

Morning Teri, things seem to be moving along at least you have a date to aim for.

Of course there are a lot of hurdles to be cleared first, if only it was easy eh!

Take care and give Bert a hug for us.

Hi Teri! I hope things work out well for you both, I will pray for good results for you. The whole thing about cancer is soooo frightening. We just need to carry on and do the best for our loved ones and ourselves. All the best love Julie xxxxxx

    Hi Teri

I have been wondering how Bert is and am only just beginning to find my way around this daft new site.  He really has had a time of it.  As you know I was diagnbsed with AML but at the mo it is apparently more along the lines of myleosdysplasia.  I take my hat off to you both - I am the same age as him but I don't think transplant would be an option for me should I need it.

    Thinking of you both.

    Christine xx
