We are going into day 41 since Bert started his Chemo (it lasted 5 days) and his counts are beginning to creep up, albeit very slowly. he had another couple of units of blood last night so I am hoping to see an improvement today when I visit.
As far as I can gather as they keep changing things he now needs more cheme as it is about 6 weeks away before he goes for transplant. However he can't get his week at home until his counts go up more, then he has to have the chemo and then he has to wait for his counts to fall and come back up in time for this appointment. It is not possible. as it has taken 6 weeks for this lot and the counts are not up enough yet apparently it gets longer each time. Oh and he still has a bone marrow aspiration to fit in before he goes to the Beatson
Confused, you will be. cos I am. The problems all seem to start when the consultant changes every 2 weeks the plan also changes. Last week I was told aspiration around day 38 now I have been told they can't do it until his counts are up, which is nonsense as they did the last time prior to confirming that he had relapsed
