Day 36 Bertiebassetts Return Journey

Less than one minute read time.

Meeting with the Consultant went ok but for the time being she cannot tell me much as Bert's blood count is still not moving, they will do a bone marrow aspiration around day 38 which will tell us if he is in remission for the 2nd time, If not there is not much else they can do other that support him with transfusions and treat the infections. If he is in remission and we still don't have a date for BMT  before Christmas then he will need more chemo to keep him there. On the other hand if we get a soon date for BMT then it will be more chemo then transplant. It is a bit of a rollercoaster at the moment, the waiting is so difficult, yet I don't know if it will be any easier once we know for sure what we are dealing with.

Bert is still slightly confused and grumpy he want's to come home but has a way to go before that can happen. At the moment he is infection free long may that last. That's about all I can say

Love Teri

    Hi Teri,

At least you got some good news for a change. No infection, lets hope it stays that way. Hope you are looking after yourself and getting enough sleep and rest.

You take care and be safe.

Hey Teri, you two are really going through the mill at the moment.  At least the meeting didn't go too badly just not particularly encouraging.

I can't see that putting you off doing all you can to get your Bert his BMT or home before Xmas.

    Good luck, love & strength.
