Day 25 Bertiebassetts Return Journey

1 minute read time.

Another good day. Bert is almost sounding like himself and he put his hearing aids in before I went to visit which of late has been unusual so he is obviously feeling better. He is due for some blood and platelets so tomorrow he should look a lot less grey I hope. Someone please give me a shake I need to get my ironing done  and really cant be bothered. Failing that I could leave a set of keys underneath a plant pot and you could come and help.

Thinking back that is not funny as yesterday at lunchtime I discovered someone had climbed my 6 foot fence and come into my back garden, nothing was disturbed but having had a break in a few years ago it shook me up a little. My back door is quite isolated with no one looking over me. My son has repositioned the security light so I will see if it comes on but as I am at work all day and the hospital until 8.30 the house is empty. Obviously I have not told Bert as he would worry and it is no good both of us worrying there is nothing he can do. I have taken to hiding stuff and getting the family to come in with me at night just to make sure its all ok

Anyway I will go and    iron :( well some of it anyway I don't know where I got the idea I have nothing to wear !!!

Love Teri

My ironing pile never seems to get any smaller... I only seem to delve into it when I want to find something to wear that has no creases in it.

  • Hi Teri

Get a tumble dryer and forget about the ironing.

    I hate it esp bedding.

When I was young my elder sister used to send me up to bed to look in the wardrobe and under the beds in case the bogey man was hiding there.

God knows what I would have done if he was.

    Take Care

Ironing done at 4am as I had a nightmare and could not get back to sleep.  Was dreaming that Bert had a stroke so had to phone the hospital, needles to say he was fast asleep.

  • Glad to hear Bert is feeling brighter. Is the confusion you mentioned under control now too?

I save up all my ironing and do it watching all my favourite TV programmes (recorded) and it makes the whole ordeal a lot less painful/boring!

Bogeymen I can handle... spiders are something else!

No more nightmares, Terri. Sweet dreams.

I'm glad Bert is feeling better my husband had blood and platelets yesterday but this week's chemo has been very draining so he's feeling completely washed out, hoping for a better week next week.

I HATE ironing so leave it as long as possible  but it makes you feel good once it's done and I always priomise myself that I won't let the pile get so high next time but I always do. I have even thought of hiring one of those ironing people but that would make me feel even more useless.

    Look after yourself .
