Hi Everyone,

I was diagnosed with Breast cancer on 22.12.10. I am half way through my first chemo session, this week is my no immunity week so i'm curled up on the sofa away from the world and its bugs lol......Having 3 x FEC followed by 3x TAX,  Side effects of FEC are not nice but i have managed to go to work twice and spent a day working at home.

I've totally lost my sense of taste and my hair is falling out in clumps, my worst side effect tho is the blurred vision and would like to know if others on FEC have experienced this, when it happens i feel like a little old lady unable to do anything .......oh yeah and for the record i'm only 43 lol !!!!!!

Anyway i've made a start on my blog, hopefully it may help others and may also help me in the long run having somewhere to sound off so's to speak

Best wishes

    Hi Annie,

hope your starting to feel a little better, be sure to mention all your side affects to the docs at your hospital as they can give you medication for all kinds stuff (yes more tablets !) eg hearburn, tingly fingers, mouthwashes etc. sorry to hear about the hair too, it is hard and upsetting i wont pretend that i wasnt in pieces the day after i had what was left shaved off, but i guess we can look forward to it coming back and having fun with hairstyles i wouldnt have before been brave enough to try.

Im on TAC and have 1 more to go, it is hard but you will get through it just dont be too hard on yourself if your feeling low, rest up.  The hardest thing im dealing with is all the raging hormones i have never cried so much in my life throughly fed up of that now !

    take care

    xx

    Hi Everyone,

Thanks for all the lovely comments and advice, have found the blurred vision is worse when i'm tired hence the sofa is now my best friend lol......my hair was very thick and has thinned but is not noticeable at the moment, altho i have no hoe it will last through cycle 2 !!!!.

Have never felt so tired in my life........a gentle stroll round the local supermarket, and i slept for 4 hours.

My husband and boys aged 15 and 18 have been amazing, i'm so lucky.....i've been so used to doing everything and had no idea they were so capable, altho its hilarious listening to them in the kitchen cooking or ironing, to be honest it has really brought us together as a family and i'm hoping for positive outcomes along the road.....mind you wait for the hormones to kick in and it maybe a different story.........Oncologist 26.01.11.....will post how i get on then hugs and kisses to you all and thanks again for your words of support.........together we will all fight this x x x

Hello all again.......well i've finally had my last 3rd and final FEC, side effects from cycle 2 were truely horrendous, gums receeded giving me the most painful sensitive teeth, my mouth was permanently on fire and i was generally a truely unhappy bunny.  4 days into 3rd cycle of FEC and apart from feeling tired i'm surprised to say the old side effects have not returned at the moment, and as i type this i'm clinging onto a piece of wood lol.    Back to the oncologist before i start the TAX, oh yeah hair all came out on day 14 after 1st FEC, but have noticed a tiny bit of re growth.....not worth worrying about at the moment i know.  Blood tests have been really good so i must be doing something right anyhow lol

Hope your all staying positive out there,

    Best Wishes
