As KateG points out, our default setting is that only members you have identified as 'friends' can contact you in this way through our community.
But you can choose to change this setting so that all members can send you private messages or comment on your profile. But we don't recommend that you do this, since it can make you vulnerable to spam messages like this one.
Angela, you currently have your profile set to receive private messages from anyone. Contact us if you'd like to change this and we'll do so for you.
If anyone's concerned that they might be receiving private messages from strangers, you can change your settings using the following steps:
- Make sure you're logged in to the community
- Click 'edit my profile' at the top-right of the page
- Click the 'My settings' tab
- Scroll down 'Private messages configuration' and select the 'Friends only' option
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click 'save'
