Dear diary,
Monday morning and, at last, we had been able to get out of the village now that the snow had started to melt a tiny bit. But it was still cold and driving was still a challenge to us all. Off on a 20 mile trip for a meeting to hopefully pick up a cheque from a client and the roads were "clear" which meant that the motorways are clear but once you come off them... good luck!
Got there safely and even managed to find a parking place that was possible to get to through the snow drifts. And I was welcomed with a wonderful hot cup of coffee :-)
But no cheque :-( Not quite an "in the post" moment but we would have to wait another couple of weeks...
Back home and back to work trying to get my presentation ready for tomorrow's afternoon meeting in Ebbw Vale. With T's help I get there before it was too late into the evening which was good as I had an early start in the morning. The recent snow had really mucked up our meetings and I was having to travel up to Nuneaton in the morning for a project progress meeting with one client then a quick turn round for my trip to Ebbw Vale for the afternoon.
Morning meeting went well but it went on a bit too long so as I got in the car my satnav told me that I would arrive at my destination with 5 minutes spare. That is if I don't stop for food etc!
The gods were on my side and I arrived with 10 minutes to spare even after stopping off to grad some food and a hot drink. But the clients car park was still snowbound so I just park on the edge of it.
The meeting went well but as I was getting to the end of my presentation we were told that they had just received a weather warning and their boss had told them all to pack up and go home! We concluded the meeting quickly but they were still smiling so it must have gone well. Fingers crossed! :-)
It was a nightmare journey home, well all along the M4 until we got to Swindon was driving into a snow blizzard but then it stopped and all was well. Home to be greeted by a nice large rum and ginger!
Tuesday was a good day. I was back on form workwise. And I had a smile back on my face. Sometimes a day can just be good.
Love to you all
Andrew xx
