When I get older, losing my hair, many years from now... when I'm 64 :-) So sang the Beatles and I have now got to blog number 64.
My good state of mind that I had woken with on Monday has stayed with me and I greeted Tuesday with a hop skip and a jump. Didn't have time for a lazy start with an extra doze in bed so it was up in the dark and straight to work on the computer. Polished off a couple of things then off on my travels.
Firstly I had to get over to the Spice Route restaurant job and make sure the steelwork people had the right drawings to set out the steels for the new staircase opening. Get that wrong and we'd have a big problem! Working to a tight deadline to make sure the place is open for christmas and we can't afford any delays caused by problems. I then jump back in the car ready to head off to Newbury area for a design meeting with Tim from the Bristol office so that we can complete the designs for the West Cheshire College that I'm going to present on Friday morning.
But less than 5 mins into the journey I have a problem. Bum. In my haste and general hoppity skip way I had not adjusted my seatbelt correctly and hadn't realised that I had it trapped under the edge of my stoma bag and, you've guessed it, twang went the seal and I felt that tell tale feeling of warm liquid on my stomach. You get the idea...
So it was a quick change of direction and back homeward bound to replace the bag so that I didn't walk around all day with a wet patch on my trousers! I'm so relaxed about the stoma bag these days that problems only seem to come when I forget the basic checks before jumping in them there puddles!
Keeping within the speed limit, I did the deed and managed still to arrive in Newbury on time.
And the design session went well. Bit like ipod designers meet Vivienne Westwood meet Philiip Starck. Technical term: dead sexy stuff :-)
Got home by about 4pm so was feeling like a day well spent. Now what else did I have to do...?
Oh yes, I'm a keynote speaker at a seminar in London on Wednesday evening and I've not even started writing my speech yet :-) Also need to pull together a visual presentation. Lucky that I do my best work under pressure!
3 hours later at it's all ready... ish. Just need to change that bit, then that bit. Just leave it alone boy! It's good as it is! Well I decided to sleep on it as I can always tweak it again in the morning.
And so to bed after a busy and fun day. Yes, I did p*** myself but hey, I am getting older!
Pip pip to you all
Andrew xx
