So, this is my blog number 57. The Heinz marker of my new found journalistic career. Well, let me take you on a journey...
Twas the night before Wednesday and all was quiet. The trees slowly swayed in the light breeze as the last of the jolly villagers made their way home from the local ale house. Candles Cottage was slowly cooling down as the log fire burnt itself out in the grate and the cats looked for somewhere warm to rest awhile before going out on their nocturnal travels.
A and T were sound asleep in bed, entwined in each others arms, dreaming of their future together.
And then the bloody radio alarm went off!!
But they both had to get up as the world of work called them. Neither wanted to crawl out from under the duvet and into the world of coldness and cats demanding breakfast. Perhaps just another 10 mins of sleep would be allowed? And thus the snooze button was pressed and quiet descended on the household...
And then the bloody radio alarm went off again!!
Well, reality had to break into their dream world and with one almighty leap, they crawled out of bed :-) And it wasn't long before T was off to her office whilst A climbed into his car to drive to a site meeting at their restaurant project.
Yep, you heard me right. I did say drive. I CAN DRIVE AGAIN, I CAN DRIVE AGAIN, I AM FREE, OH JOY, I LIKE IT :-)
And joy it is. After so many months of having to be driven or having to walk I can now just get in my car and drive. Happy happy happy me. La de la la. Jingle bells jingle bells...
Even the site meeting was great in that the client took Mike and I to lunch at a local (very posh) golf club.
And then I drove home again. Oh happy happy happy me. La de la la. Jingle bells jingle bells...
So that was Wednesday in a nutshell. A good day.
On Thursday our friend Laura was going to come over with her little one, William, and we were going to take him to the park and have a jam sandwich picnic but he woke up with a rash all over his body! The pharmacist didn't know what the spots were so laura made an appointment at the doctors. But as I could now drive I went over to their house to made good on my promise to spend the day with them.
An hour of playing with an 18 month old boy and we were ready to take our trip out to the docs. And the doc was great but she had no idea what the cause of the rash was. So she called in another doc to look at poor William's bits. No idea either! And so it became a "non specific, probably viral etc etc" when was doctor speak for we don't know but it doesn't look like any of the dangerous ones. "It will either be gone by tomorrow or be all over his body but don't worry, treat him as normal, take him wherever you want. Nothing to worry about"
So, we went back home and had our jam sandwich picnic and it was good. :-) Sadly no jelly but I'm sure I'll get some soon...
I got home about 3 and needed a rest! Especially as Friday was to be another work trip out. After our early night, I was quite bright and breezy when I climbed onto the train before 8 the next morning on my way back up to Leamington Spa and some nice person had left a morning paper for me to read. Just an hour later we had arrived and Tim was there to collect me for our trip onwards to Nuneaton to do the second presentation for our designs for the Pingles Leisure Centre.
It was only Monday when we were last up there so we (well Tim and Simon) had to work hard to get the scheme ready for this morning. But it looked good even if I say it myself. A sexy scheme. One I could wax lyrical about to the client with my normal passion and enthusiasm. And I think it went well. Jason, if you're reading this, can you let me know??? :-)
We should hear in about two weeks time once the proposals have been put to the full board a week on Wednesday. Yet me waiting, oh I how like that, NOT!
But it was a good end to the week of work and I could look forward to our Halloween Quiz Night in fancy dress later on. And it was fun. T and I were both vampires and the rest of our team had all taken on the spirit of the evening which was played in the dark, punctuated with screams and smoke and just our home made pumpkin lanterns to give us enough light to see where we were writing our answers.
Sadly we didn't play our Joker on sport where we got everything right but on classical music where we tanked. All due to the fact that we had to name the tune and composer to ten pieces of classical music played backwards! We just got four right :-(. Never mind, we had fun and I managed to scape off most of the make-up before I fell into bed at about 1 am this Saturday morning.
It has been a great week and have been feeling good most of the time. Onwards and upwards my friends.
