Lazy Sunday afternoon...
Well a lazy Sunday morning at least as we didn't need to be up with the lark this morning. Sometimes, however, we have to be up with the jackdaws as they seem to like building their nests in our chimney and to make very loud noises whilst they are doing it.
Anyway, Sunday was a day of rest for me (under orders from T) whilst she worked on the photo post production for the wedding we did last weekend. And I have to say, the pics look absolutely fab! I'll post a link to the slideshow of them when they are finished.
All I had to do today was to be here for the Sainsbury delivery between 1 and 2 pm and then pull together a simple roast for dinner later on. Not a problem, I'm good at roasts. :-)
The day went smoothly and the dinner was nicely on time so that we could settle down to Xfactor part 2. Ah, the twins. Don't we all love them?
And that was it for the day. Simple but good.
But then came Monday morning and T had to leave for work at the crack of dawn. As my true love she did of course wake me up just before she went. I had been fast asleep but the sudden waking up was not a problem as I smile at her. Now was it still there when she had left the bedroom? Your guess! ;-)
But I did need to get up early-ish as I had to take one of the cats to the vet and I'd been told that it was only open between 9 and 10 on a Monday morning. So I couldn't fall back to sleep. cats needed feeding and then Ferris needed putting into the cat carrier once I had found it. Perhaps it was where the suit carrier was? But I found it in the middle shed so all was well. Well the cat wasn't but you know what I mean!
Now just before I left I thought I would check again on the opening times at the vets. Strange, it now said it was open from 4 to 6 pm on a Monday... So the cat was let out of it's cage and I wondered if it would still be within a mile of the house when I came to need to put it back in the box later?
And so I went to start some work upstairs on the computer but the brain wasn't sparking on all cylinders today. Was I just pooped from the weekend? Was I a bit nervous about the up and coming CT scan? Was I just feeling a tad lazy? No, snap out of it boy! Work to be done. Mouths to feed. Bills to pay. And lets face it, a bit of gentle work is oh so much better than This Morning or Jeremy Kyle!!!
But I did get my head back into gear and I even made just about all the phone calls I had on my to-do list.
To do lists. What a wonderful invention! Without mine I would be totally useless at this work game. I'm one of those "forget my head..." type of guy. I even tell people who work for/with me to nag me to get me to do things that I need to do. I like my work but only the fun bits. The boring bits seem to find themselves slipping to the end of the to do list every day. But tomorrow will be different. I promise. I will do some of the boring things on my list.
Well some of them anyway...
The more interesting boring ones that is...
What is the point of having a pending tray if you just keep doing everything and keep clearing the pending tray. My pending tray is nicely full. Rotund even. Cosy. Full to bursting!
Oh the joy of putting off things for another day, now that does make me happy :-)
Andrew xx
