Thoughts from the frontline - 49

1 minute read time.

Well good old lemsip kept the lug away and I woke up on Monday morning feeling great again!

It might be just my wishful thinking but I do feel rather healthy at the moment... Perhaps it's the enforced rest from work (now just working part time from home) or the new healthy diet but there is no doubt that my blood sugar level control is currently fantastic and my need for insulin during the day has been reduced by at least 80%, yep 80%!!!!

And the lurg that is around here and tried to get hold of me on Sunday seemed to have been banished by a couple of lemsip tablets. And the sun is shining again too.

But Monday was not going to be a day of rest for me, nope. I was being picked up from Mike from work about 10.30 am and we were going off for a couple of meeting on site at the new restaurant we have designed recently. And it was an important visit as I was meeting the company who were going to make the bar. And that is important. Probably more important than getting the kitchen layout right! :-)

It was sure good to be out in the fresh air and getting the brain to work. I know I'm not yet fit enough to be working full time and the limitation of not being allowed to drive for another month is a tad frustrating but I am getting there. Having cancer and having diary dates that include more hospital visits, scans and "discussions" with my consultant must now take their place in the background. Life is for living, I have puddles to jump in, leaves to kick and... oh yes, a design for a new college in Cheshire to do before Wednesday afternoon!

Simon, you ca stop reading this now... for everyone else... ;-)

Perhaps I could just go out for a walk whilst the sun is out.....

  • Hi Andrew,

Sunshine and fresh air - feel-good drugs without a prescription! This morning I would have rather snuggled down under the covers than get up at 6.30am to walk the dogs but I DID get up and was so glad I made the effort. By the time we got to the park the sky was blue but Cris-Crossed by aeroplane vapour trails so it looked like a giant chess board, the grass was frosted, the autumn leaves a  kaleidoscope of colour,  A photographer was rushing around the park with his camera a tripod capturing the amazing scene - you would have loved it all.

Our GP says all pensioners should be prescribed a dog to walk to get them out and exercising! As you don't have a dog (and you're not a pensioner) you'll have to take your camera for a walk instead.

    Best wishes,

    KateG
