Normality? Well I think it can be a bit over rated and a tad knackering!
Yes, we had a very busy weekend, well Saturday was busy for both of us we were off to a wedding and to take lots of lovely pictures!
And the day started early with T leaving at 10 in the morning to go over to the brides mum's house where all the girlie preparations were taking place and I went off to be with the groom, best man and the ushers (and their girlfriends!). Now I saw lots of male bonding, boys helping each other get dressed, do up cufflinks and sort out cravats whilst T was with the girlies for make up hair and champagne!
To the church, to the church! Well, via the pub for us boys as it was next door and it would be rude not to share with the locals! And so it was that we were met by a coach load of other friends to start day with the odd half. ;-)
Great fun was being had by all and I even got the groom, best man and the ushers to do a "Reservoir Dogs" pose walking down the middle of the road! Good thing that my good friend Lee, who is a big ex military chap, helped stop the traffic!
The service was at 1.30 and took....ages! But the sun was still shining when we came out so all was well. More photos and confetti and then it was off to the reception for more booze for all the guests whilst the "official" pictures were being taken. Now, Jen and Paul, who's wedding it was, have a little girl that decided to get a tiny bit poorly on her parents big day so they had to take her with them when they went off for their romantic photoshoot of the two of them in the grounds of the lovely house where the reception was being held. Romantic pictures with two worried parents trying to stop their child crying? We shall see!
At last, all the formal and informal photos had been taken and we could sit down as the guest were called in for grub. Oh the joy of sitting down :-) Not bad for me as I'd been on my feet for six hours already and the day was only half way through! I needed the rest!!!!!
Food eaten we then had the speeches. Great fun, Jen's dad was brilliant and made her blush numerous times. More drinks and cake eating and it was soon early evening and the time for the first dance. The groom cried as he hugged his new wife with their little girl being held between them. Brought a tear to everyone's eye.
More booze and dancing and then it was the hog roast. T had some but I declined as I was now officially knackered and starting to feel a bit... well rough to tell the truth. So we said our goodbyes and off we went home. A long nearly 12 hour day, felt proud of myself but so glad to be home to rest!
We both slept like logs but T had to be up early to go to Alexander Palace for a knitting show with her mum whilst I stayed at home and did... nothing!
So nothing was done by me but I seemed to get more tired as the day went on. T got back home about 4 ish and I soon started to get tea ready for us. Now, my aches seemed to have got worse as the day went on and my joints began to ache as if I was going down with the flu. Bum, had I picked up the bug that T had last week?
And so lemsip came to the rescue and I managed to eat the tea I had lovingly prepared for us two.
An early night with more lemsip and fingers crossed I'd fought off the lurg. I would find out in the morning :-)
