It’s been almost 2 months since I last blogged.
It might seem like I have had a dreary time with nothing even remotely amusing to write about.
The truth is that following the end of radiotherapy I was so exhausted I couldn’t be bothered! The 2 weeks after treatment ended were tough. And then there was Christmas and the kids were home which was lovely. And then I just got out of the habit!
So life after treatment has been a slow but steady climb back to the world. From one day to the next it feels like I make little or no progress. But if I look back over weeks I realise that things have improved. I have to be a bit more patient I guess and get used to the new normal!
Who knows what the future will bring but for now I am thankful for the improvements, grateful to the wonderful team of doctors, nurses, radiographers who have helped me, touched by the kindness of wonderful family, friends and complete strangers who have been in contact through Macmillan online community. My heart is just full of love for them all. And I’m just a little bit chuffed with myself for hanging on to my sense of humour - not always an easy thing, but oh boy, it really helps get to rough those dark days.
