Just a wee thought!!!

Less than one minute read time.

So often people with rare cancers join our community and feel so lost as nobody responds to their blogs, eg Parmitage.

I know that this can be hard because we know nothing about their cancer type and therefore we feel that we have no answers to give them so how about a "wee hello" for support!

Thankyou,

Big hugs to everyone

You're absolutely right Alison.  I do try to say hello to new members, but, like you say it is difficult if you feel that you are unable to help, but a wee hello wouldn't go amiss to make people feel welcome.

I will certainly make a point of welcoming people in future.

yes it can be a bit sad to get no replies at all. so a hallo is good as it confirms you exist!

    ditto from me too.

It can feel lonely even with a common or garden type cancer (for lack of another description) when you post and seem to get ignored.  Initially I thought this place was just cliques of people who knew each other and I felt like an interloper. Now of course I know that isn't so, some people only post when they think they have something useful to offer.

So in the case of all newcomers I truly feel even if we can be no help whatsoever it costs nothing to type a few friendly words.

Here endeth the first lesson  -  lol!!!!!!!!
