well, its been a happy new year so far

1 minute read time.
well what a time its been, i have never had a xmas or new year that was so busy and so full of fun, i even tolerated the outlaws!!!!! so now its back to normal, went to see the shoulder specialist yesterday and have been put on the waiting list to have some bone scraped off my shoulder, how nice! they did a bit of a pre-op as it will only be a quick day jobbie, all was going well until she took my blood pressure, low and behold, it was 200/117, so i have to now go in early feb to have a full pre-op assessment, so not a happy bunny about that, so this thursday i shall being going to the gps to try to get this blood pressure sorted once and for all, i have been walking at least every other day for the last month and a bit, doing between 1-2 miles with the dog, i have gone from a size 16 in jeans to a size 14, i have felt really healthy, then my blood pressure takes the mickey!!!!!!!!!!!! oh well, at least it will be a good laugh to see the look of confusion on the gps face when i hold my leg out instead of my arm to have my blood pressure done, that will be the most enjoyable part of the visit! lots of love to you all Alisonxxxxxxx

Oh Alison, I do sympathise its funny how our BP goes up and down, but I'm not surprised yours in high - bless you.  Taking it on your leg looks interesting, how high up do they put it or is it on your ankle?

I had a similar situation with my BP and they wouldn't have operated if it hadn't gone down, but I was due to see my GP anyway as my meds had run out - it was sky high.

My GP didn't even flinch when I bowled into his surgery to say, they are going to operate next week but my BP is high, he checked and went hmmmm!  I said would it be too big an ask to get it down in a week - he just grinned and said "Oh I think we can have a good go" - and he did it.

All the best for the BP and the op

    Take care

    Hi Alison,

Lovely to read your  blog again. Hope the blood pressure is sorted out for you, and the shoulder op isn't too traumatic!  Had to have my blood pressure taken on my ankle when I had my left boob  reduced to match my reconstructed one in November. I think they put the band a bit high (more round my calf) and boy was it uncomfortable! Let us know how it all goes.

    Much love

and that really hurt a lot!!!!!!!! not sure if that wasn't what caused the high bp!!! Geoff you are one cheeky laddie, next time i see you your going to be severely spanked! well, maybe not, you might enjoy it lol, anyway, not long before i see the gp, its a Dr Ray, not seen this one before, not even sure what sex it is, i am going to ask for something for the aching joints, it seems i am damned if i do and damned if i don't when it comes to excercise, did 3 miles today from one end of Monsal Dale to the Monsal Head and back again, a bit of a killer, thought i was going to have a heart attack halfway, its so steep! feel well knackered now, but onward and upwards from now on, i enjoy the walking

    love to you all
