questions about father

Less than one minute read time.
my father has Hodgkin Lymphoma and has been on chemo for about 4 months (every 2 weeks of ABVD); he fainted 2 weeks ago and was hospitalized and received blood transfusions. He is now very weak and continues to lose weight. The doctor switched him to vinblastine and prednasone. The family doctor thinks he won't pull out of this but the oncologist is optimistic. Does this sound like a downward spiral or is this not so atypical - have others experienced similar situations and survived? Thanks, Alan

Alan i hope your dad does pull through .  My husband (Alan) has Hodgkin Lymphoma and is also on AVBD.He is just started his 2nd cycle so your dad is further ahead than Alan.

i don't know much about the surviale rate can't help you there.  I shall follow this and see what others reply.   Think positive Alan how old is your dad ?

    nanaboo,

Thanks for your kind note.  My dad is 84.  He actually had a good day yesterday, we went food shopping and it really perked him up.  This morning he continues to be upbeat and he gained 0.6 pounds over yesterday.  Hope this continues. Best wishes for your husband.
