Empty white boxes appearing when you try to post? Here is how to fix it

Less than one minute read time.

Hi,

A small number of users are having problems using some parts of the site. This being focused around being unable to enter text into blogs posts or discussions. It mainly affects people using Internet Explorer 9, if you are unsure what you are using please check here.

If you are using Internet Explorer, you can quickly fix this problem.

Step 1:

Go to tools and click on Compatability View settings

Step 2:

Add Macmillan.org.uk

Step 3:

Check that macmillan.org.uk appears as it does below, and then click close!

Our developers are fixing the problem, however in the meantime please use this quick fix to get full access to the site.

Hi James, I am having the same problem again and Rachel sent me a link to the solution that worked last time. I now have a new computer and tried this again but there is no compatability setting on my tool bar, my new computer uses Internet Explorer 9 and Windows 7. Have you any other solutions? Thanks Jackie.

Hi Jackie, when you click on the internet, in the bar that has the website address on it ie www. community. macmillan etc... after the address you should see something that looks like a magnifying glass, then an arrow pointing down and then a funny symbol that looks like a sheet of paper ripped in the middle like shark's teeth, then a circle arrow and a cross...

Go to the funny sheet of paper looking one and click the on that. It should turn blue. Once it is blue, the mac site should be fine.

Mac is designed for older systems so that icon converts the site to be compatable with the new one.

I hope that makes sense and helps...
