They sent him home from hospital with ..what I thought was everything in place to help ...Meals on wheels was a man who rang the first night to see if he wanted fish and chips ,,,it was 9.45 pm !!!! The home care assistant arrived next morning spent 20 mins on her phone then left ! He is diabetic and was sent home with enough medication for a week but it is running out now and we dont know how to collect it Help needed urgent....Its like dealing with 5 year olds !!!!!

    hi flossy

sorry your having trouble with care how they they send people home without a full package of care is disgusting your hubby or someone needs to ring his gp they can arrange district nurse and a mac nurse if he hasny already got one mac nurse can help arrange help and also he could have a social worker gp can put meds on a repeat script and you can get meds delivered to hubbys home from most chemists theres a help line phone number on this site and they are very good they would advise you on these issues good luck with it all hugs xxrose123xx

  • as advised go direct to the gp to put things in place and alert them to the failures, I would then put in a complaint to socila services and ensure your husband as the 24hr emergency number for social services, that way he can contact someone out of hours if he needs too. Sadly he is in a system and as I am finding out with my nephew people don't count its all about funding and contracts unless your husband wants to appomit his own carers but that could be a step too far for him.

Shout and shout loud and hope the GP is good unfotunately.
