Ron's mum

Less than one minute read time.

Ron's mum died yesterday. It was a release really as she wasn't eating and rarely conscious. We will go to the funeral, naturally, and it means that we must fly. I get conflicting opinions about flying after chemo. This site states somewhere that you should not fly for some months after chemo but our oncologist says it's OK. Has anyone any experience? I am now worried about Ron's dad. They had been married 62 years and it is very difficult to cope after such a long time together.

Sorry to hear about your loss. It often feels like a relief after you have watched them suffering.

I would go with what the onc says, my daughter flew during her chemo with no problems.

It will be difficult for his dad after such a long time together, but I'm sure you'll all help him through!

    Wishing you love and strength.

Hello - very sad news to her your mother in law has passed away. At least she sint suffering anymore.

As for chemo - I have flown during chemo too so if the oncologist says you can go, like Classy says - go for it. Just remember to get some insurance that covers cancer incase you have any problems.

    Best wishes Jools xx

Thanks to both of you. It is good to get some feedback from people who have actually done these things. I don't think that there is much point getting insurance. We have our European health cover for emergencies and it is unlikely that any insurance company would cover Ron except perhaps at a huge premium.

    Thanks again
