Somebody suggested I gave jazz music a try. Unfortunately I have only found two jazz albums in my vast music collection. "Sketches Of Spain" by Miles Davis and "Collected" by Terry Callier. I have been listening to both of them, but it became a bit of a struggle. I do like "Sketches Of Spain" but I think it needs to be listened to carefully in one go. It is definitely no good for the MP3 player which I listen to whilst travelling with regular interruptions. I have also decided that I like my music to have lyrics, so I do slightly prefer the Terry Callier album.
However I think the main problem is that genre of music does not cheer me up. I like music to inspire and lift me, but all these two albums seem to do is to make me feel sad and gloomy. Perhaps I have not chosen two very good examples. A friend is sending me suggestions of some other jazz artists, maybe I will find something more suitable there.
So for now I am pleased to be at the end of the jazz experiment. Maybe I will revisit it another day!
