The day before I was due to have chemotherapy I had to go to the dentist as my tooth had broken the week before. I had to have a temporary filling but will need a permanent filling to replace it. The dentist offered an appointment for the same day as my chemo at the cancer centre and seemed to think I could have fillings on Chemo. However, when I spoke to the chemo nurse he clearly said there's no way I can have a filling on my tooth when I am having Chemo due to the risk of infection. I just must hope the temporary filling lasts for four months. I am surprised the dentist did not know this. Lesson to be learned is to have a dentist appointment long before you start your chemotherapy.
