oh b*gg*r

Less than one minute read time.

Well that didnt go to well on thursday i got a call from one of my consultants they had found the source for my afp rise i was informed it was a small nodule on my lung and it would just need surgery to remove it. Job done. Relief.for the first time in a year my wife and i thought this nightmare would be over. Just a ct scan to confirm it was ok to operate. So yesterday i had my scan and for the first time i waited with confidence.how wrong was I In walked my cinsultant.sorry but the scan show four small spots of cancer in your lungs. Im afraid the only course is high dose chemo and if your number dont go down we have to move you to pallative chemo Oh...

Oh b*gg*r, I'm really sorry to hear that news Damon.  I'm no expert but does 'small' mean 'really small' and easily zapped?  Don't want to offer a load of platitudes because we're facing hard stuff and know...'you just never know'....but want you n your mrs to 'know' we are thinkin of you both....keep going.

Your gonna think I'm stalking you now haha. Hope your harvesting went well. We are on route for petes check up from his 2nd sct. Hes c too had spread to lungs and liver hence 3 scts. He was in 3 weeks with this transplant but if u asked me I'd sware it was 4.... felt that long haha. He was discharged 10 days transplant with his 1st. He hasnt had a sore mouth with either and alrhough he had really bad dhiorrea with the last one. This was caused by antibiotics for Infection not the sct. Other than feeling tired his symptoms have been minimal. In fact he takes less meds now than he has in the past year. He is also driving the 54 miles to the hospital as I write this. Not bad to say he was discharged last Thursday Any questions then ask away as we k ow how hard it is when there is no info out there to reasure you
