WALK IN CENTRE FOR DRESSING (GRAPHIC PICS)

1 minute read time.

Hi... Hope everyone is enjoying the good weather?

Today i went for re dressing at the walk in centre,... below are the photos

just a warning about tubigrip single or double... well at least in my case... there was nothing between my skin and the tubigrip. so over 2 days of hot weather and the tubigrip moving... a blister happened under one of the peices of micropore holding the pad in place. so when the plaster was taken off, the skin over the blister came off too... see pic! ouch!

otherwise it was the usual prontosan soak for 10 minutes.. then debride and clean. fucibet cream then aquacell ... gauze pads and xupad then smaller pieces of tape ... cotton wool later up the leg and then the double tubigrip..(size G .. yes i have tree trunk legs)

back at the PDC on monday morning at 7am before going to work.

have a great weekend everyone

I have to admit your photos make my stomach turn a bit but I look at them through choice and sheer interest!! It looks so much better than the first photos you put on and I never realised how much they take away!! I think its great that you add photos as it gives a real insight into what others go through and I always thought my mastectomy scar was horrendous but its nothing compared to this.  Hope it continues to heal well and its not too painful or anything xx

Peter I can see there is an improvement, - the edges of the cavity are definitely healing well, - and the centre looks better than it did.

I also found tubigrip very uncomfortable, - because my cavity was on my thigh - as I walked the tubigrip rolled down and ended up in a tight band - the nursing team abonded the tubigrip and eventually used Mepore dressings, - the only trouble was the sticky bit stuck to some of my skin graft donor site  and caused that to be extremely sore, - but eventually all was well and yours will be soon.

I can still remember how odd it felt when they discharged me from doing the dressings and my leg was completely without any dressings, - I felt both elated and frightened too!!!!  It was amazing how quickly my leg continued to heal because it was exposed to the air, - but oh my goodness I was very careful not to knock it, and when we went rambling I put a dressing on in case I fell when climbing the styles!!!!

I like swimming and actually didn't go swimming for 12 months post surgery, - to make sure.

Keep up the good work Peter, - you are doing well, it has been big battle for you.

    xxLynn
