DAD, I miss you! A letter

1 minute read time.

Dad, its been 5 years since you left, time has gone by so fast, sometimes, even now, I expect to see you, playing your keyboard, cracking your jokes.......

We had some problems I know, when I was younger, I was sick and mum took me to doctors, the diagnosis was simple, this child is missing her dad, you left us, for four years then came back, it was the happiest day of my life......but maybe some things were left usaid, some things not forgiven,,,I know you felt guilty, I could see it in your eyes, do you remember the night I came round, just me and you, you had tears in your eyes, will never forget it, you stroked my face and told me you were sorry, we were listening to Matt Monroe (Mum said you always hated him, prob cos he was her favorite) but you said I want this song at my funeral......Somewhere.......I said dont be daft, youre not gonna die yet, but you did...2 months later,

I never saw you from that night till you died,  5 years and I am still wracked with guilt, you went so suddenly, I never got the chance to say goodbye properly, I was on holiday, you could have waited till I got home.....

we are so alike you and I, mum says, not physically (I am like mum) but spiritually and personality, funny that, my sis looks like you but is like mum totally, maybe thats why me and mum are so close, I dont know......

She has cancer now dad, I know you would be sooooo distressed if you were here now, but I know you will look after her if her time comes..........

A song that really touches my heart, and practically sums up how I feel

RIP my beautiful pops, I love you always
