    I had an appointment in the ENT Dept after my tonsillectomy wound had healed a bit, and had to go in to get the results of histology from the removed tonsil. Feeling a bit nervous I was a little shocked to see the Oncologist sitting in ENT.     So I was expecting to have a tonsillectomy to get rid of my swollen and lumpy tonsil. It didn't quite turn out as simple as expected. The surgeon straight away said " we might not remove it as we need know what it is first" . So I went under anaesthetic really not knowing what was going to happen.

    So the referral to the local hospital came through quickly which was great. So I arrived one Friday towards the end of June. The Doctor was fine and suggested she have a look by sticking a camera up my nose. What an offer! So up it went and she had a look around. She suggested that it seemed to be not to bad and that it was probably nothing to much to worry about. So next thing would be to get it removed and everything…

    The beginning.

    At some point in the summer of 2019 I started to notice a feeling of something stuck in my throat. Having a look in the mirror was a bit tricky and although my right tonsil was swollen i didn't pay much attention.
