Hello, I ve just joined the community thanks to my peer on health unlocked PBC. I was diagnosed with autoimmune liver disease three years ago. And was doing quite alright. 2 weeks ago I had a biopsy of polyp and curetage of the endometrium. Was called in on Monday to get the news I have an endometrial cancer grade 2. The biopsy is still not finalized, so I do not know what type out of 4 by FIGO my cancer is. I am awaiting for an appointment with the oncologist within next Two weeks when my biopsy is complete. I was wondering if anyone has any autoimmune condition along with endometrial cancer. Does it affect the treatment? Any comment is highly appreciated Thank you

  • I opted not to have the surgery for many reasons. One was that I have so many other medical issues that might complicate things. The other is my age, weight - and general health I guess, so I decided to try the hormone treatment.

I have had the coil in for almost 5 months now and things are going well.

Minimal side effects and follow-up next week, so we will see how it is now.

I have lost some weight but have a long way to go before I would even consider surgery.

  • Hello

would you share please what grade and type you have, so that I could relate considering my options

    thank you very much

  • I have been diagnosed with low grade 1 endometrial cancer - the lining of the womb and it's slow growing apparently and very receptive to hormones. They test for that kind of thing! That, along with my weight issues etc....was why they recommended me for hormone treatment, at least whilst I lost weight. What stage are you at?

  • I only know the grade, it is 2, when my gyno who removed the polyp, met with me on Monday the biopsy was not finalized. He only told me the grade. I have an appointment for blood and us on Tuesday and oncologist on Thursday. I ll find out soon.

I am very scared waiting for the results,

I learned not to google since my liver autoimmune diagnosis, but cannot help it)

and the type 2EC looks scary. At least on the paper.

i am very happy that your grade 1, and it is working nicely with hormone therapy.

i wish that the therapy will treat the cancer till your are ready for another step.

    my best wishes!!!

  • You sound very stressed, which is hardly surprising. Most of us are on here! And yet most find the strength each day to cope with very difficult situations as I am sure you will in time. It is scary, no denying it. I still have some sleepless nights but am learning gradually to take each day as it comes. This cancer is generally very treatable, whatever stage you are at so try to be positive. You also have other medical issues and I am aware of that overlap and how hard it is to carry extra burdens along with that. There are many ladies on here with grade 2 who have had treatment which has been very effective and I am sure they will be along soon to support you. It is challenging but there is lots of support out there and what I do is try as I say to take things one step at a time.

Don't sweat the stuff you don't know about and find joy in each day.

I wish you well and let us know how it goes this week. My follow-up is on Friday and I am pretty stressed about that too, so you are not alone...sending hugs.

  • Thank you for the words of encouragement.

i wish you  the best of luck on Friday.

    i ll keep positive.

    Will post updates next week.

    hugs..)))

  • Hi Cat66

I can understand why you are scared but try and think of it that once you know for sure what your stage and grade are, they can plan the best and most effective treatment.

    A grade 2 and a type 2 are different.

A grade 2 cancer is a moderately differentiated cancer. So grade 1 is where the cancer cells look only slightly different to normal cells. A grade 2 is where there is a bit more difference. A grade 3 is where they look very different.

Type 1 endometrial cancers are the most common and they tend to be more slowly growing. They are linked to excess oestrogen.

Type 2 tend to behave more aggressively and are not linked to excess oestrogen.

Mine was a carcinoma sarcoma which is a grade 3 and type 2 and stage 1b.My treatment was tailored to my diagnosis and I am doing ok. (treatment was 2022)

  • Hello,

Just a short update on my hospital visit with the surgeon.

    I received a preliminary biopsy

    Apparently, I have a loss of MLH1 and PMS2

    that would make me MMRd.
MLH1 methylation testing is pending for now.

is anybody else was diagnosed MLH1 deficient?

    Thank you!
