Hi ladies
I was recently diagnosed, 5 weeks ago, with Stage 1 Grade 1A (Have I got that the right way round?! Too much to take in!!) Endometrial Adenocarcinoma.
Due to my age, 32, and the fact we don't have children yet, we are trying the hormonal therapy route first rather than opting for a hysterectomy.
I have been prescribed 400mg of Provera a day.
My question is, is spotting and back pain normal whilst being on this? I don't want to be a drama queen and run to the doctors for little things when I don't need to but my hormones are all over the place and I'm over thinking and worrying about everything xx
Hi the marina coil is the best as it releases progesterone right into the womb u get a bit if pms symptoms with it it’s also a little uncomfortable going it but hopefully it will work for you xxx
Thank you…. I will try to get both. My consultant told me that the pills are more effective but I think there is some value in getting a coil fitted too - although it sounds painful.
xxxx
Hi Lollie_01 I'm so glad to see the ladies came back to you with valuable advice. As I said quite often members leave the group after their treatments end, others pop up years after!
Stay in touch and let us know how things go.
Big hugs, Barb xx

Having the coil as well has worked. Eventually I will have to have a hysterectomy but I just want a chance at ivf first.
I will keep everything crossed for your ivf treatment… well done on getting the coil as well. I emailed my doctor about it earlier. I’m glad its worked for you. Xx
Hi littlemiss, I wondered if you had experienced any of these symptoms from being on Provera. Its hard to tell if its the progesterone or something more sinister. Symptoms: bloatedness, light bleeding/ brown discharge, aching in pelvis, particularly the womb area. Aching in lower pelvis bowels, and sensitive bladder
sorry for the gory details.. and no worries if you’d rather not reply.. thanks x
I think I’ve been pretty lucky with side effects. My main one was weight gain which was fairly significant. I didn’t really get anything else with just the tablets but everyone is different x
That’s good that you didn’t get too many side effects. Not surprised about the weight gain, ive definitely noticed this on myself too. X
