Hi everyone
My husband had Squamous cell carcinoma which spread to lymph nodes in face and neck in 2021 and he had his lymph nodes removed and a course of radiotherapy. Yesterday he was advised that it had spread to his lungs, not lung cancer as it is Squamous cell carcinoma which has confused me. He has several spots on his right lung. We were told they can’t operate or have chemotherapy but instead he has been offers Libtayo (Cemiplimab) immunotherapy. Has anyone had any experience with this and has anyone had SCC spread?
my husband has loss a bit of weight and has a bit of a cough other then that he seems well and is not yet on any medication.
Hi,
I am pleased to hear your husband is doing well on his treatment. My husband is doing very well at present..all tumours have shrunk and he is tolerating treatment well. His consultant said this was the best news he could have at this stage.
We even went for a weekend away this last week. It feels like borrowed time so we are trying to enjoy it.
Best wishes to you
Hi
that is great news. The nurses at the hospital think that immunotherapy is the way forward they seem have had some good results and the treatment doesn’t appear to be as aggressive as chemotherapy. We won’t know the results of my husbands scan until the 9 December so will keep you posted. Take care
regards
