Good Morning everyone,
Just joined the group yesterday so be great to get some of your Advice and experiences especially if they are relevant to my potential journey. Nothing confirmed yet but good to start getting my head around what’s possibly coming down the line. I’ve given some information in my profile to help targeted responses !! Thanks all.
Hello Dave
P I Rads 4-5 is a good indicator of cancer although no diagnosis can be given until the biopsy. You have a lowish PSA so all looks good and whatever they find on the biopsy should lead to treatment with a "curative pathway".
I think if they had found anything else on the MRI they would have told you - my last full MRI is worrying when you read it but everything still works!!
Best wishes - Brian.

Hi Dave (Dave HS ) firstly welcome to the forum. It is a very scary time until you know what is going on, but try not to research on Dr Google as there is so much rubbish it is hard to get the truth. Feel free to ask on here, you will find everyone very helpful. So, from what you know, you have a small prostate but an MRI showing an abnormality of concern and your PSA is low. Unfortunately nobody can tell from those stats and a biopsy needs to confirm just what is happening. It is likely to be cancer, but sounds to me like you are very early stage. One thing to remember is that PCa is very slow growing and if found early, very curable. Have a lovely holiday and remember there is no rush at this stage to do anything.
Best wishes, David
Please remember that I am not medically trained and the above are my personal views.
When you say Mri doesn't look good when you read report.....what did report actually say if you don't mind me asking. Thank you.
Hello Greenredkite3
My MRI showed cancer in the prostate and a dark mass on my pelvis. Urology thought it was cancer therefore advanced PCa, Oncology on the other hand did not agree but blasted my pelvic lymph notes with RT just to be sure.
The MRI also included details of a recently broken rib, details that my knees are wearing out - dodgy disks in my spine and my hips aren't the best - but hey ho - I was 66 at the time - 69 now and still going. .
Best wishes - Brian.

Wow! And you seem so cheerful. Thank you for your reply and the hope that you have. Bit scarey when one speciality says one thing and the other, another. We are new to all this, so am finding these posts so useful.thanks again.

Hi Dave HS - are you of slim build? PIRAD 4 or 5 means that they have a very clear picture from the MRI: it does not indicate severity or grade of cancer. Don’t worry at this stage: you’re now in the process of diagnosis. AW
Cheers Alpine Warrior !! I’m of relatively slim build, carrying a bit of extra timber around the waist but nothing major !! That’s reassuring to hear that and thanks for sharing with me too as when u hear the words between PI Rad 4 & 5 you automatically think the worst
, from the likes of yourself and Brian AKA Millibob you are incredible people who have such positivity that the help it does people who are scared is hard to quantify !! Keep up the great work AW
