Hi, i have problems swallowing most foods because of dry mouth, im stuck to porridge, bananas and soup, i have no appetite at all, eating is an ordeal,
Appetite can take a while to return. Best advise at min is eat to live not live to eat. Food is fuel. Poached eggs are easy they slip down. Think nursery food for a while. Rice pudding extra cream in it custard , trifles jelly. Ready break made with extra milk. I could eat well buttered cheap white bread toasted Toasting does make it easier. ( Not the crusts though)
You may need to have a Luke warm drink to wash food down it can help.

My appetite completely disappeared for 6 months... break through moment came when I got a cup of coffee down for the first time...then thought what if I dipped a custard cream in it....was soon eating 2 packs a day. Believe me after 6 months it was heaven..my consultant said there is no such thing as a bad calorie when you haven't eaten for 6 months.
Good luck

Hi Brews, agree with Hazel, it’s just about getting enough calories down you for now. I found sweet baked potatoes easier to digest (with loads of butter). Also milkshakes-fresh or frozen fruits, gold top milk (or the prescribed milk shake powders/ Fortisips if you’ve been given them), ice cream and you can add a few spoonfuls of skimmed milk powder too. Blitz it all up in a blender-loads of calories and easy to get down. Good luck
Hi there, i got my results today and was given 95% all clear so im delighted, can anyone tell me my tongue feel more sensative than it did 2 months ago, i finished radiotherapy in april, is this normal
