Rigg tube discomfort and radiotherapy begins

Hello everyone. Well the time is almost Here for my husband to begin radiotherapy. He starts his six weeks on Monday. He had his rigg tube surgery on 11 th August, but is struggling already with bloating, slight nausea, reflux etc. I had hoped that his appetite would hang in there for a couple of weeks, but he is struggling because of all the gastric side effects. Is this normal?
Any tips greatfully appreciated xx

  • Thanks. I think that’s what scares me. Feeling helpless when he can’t eat.

Try not to worry too much. He won’t want to eat and that’s the time to use the feeding tube. My husband hooked me up at night and through the day made sure I got my pain meds.
As long as you are there knowing there is an end and that he will get through

  • Dear Dora, thank you for asking this question.  It has enabled me to read the responses and that is very helpful for me at this time as I will have a RIGG installed and am worrying about it as I am on Immuno and do not want to have to end up on antibiotics.
