Hi all,
I had a biopsy on my left breast on 7th April and will be going for my result on Tuesday 3rd May. The consultant I saw said that looking at the pics it "probably" is cancer. I luckily managed to get a fortnight in the sun and almost managed to forget all about it following my biopsy but now I am back and starting to panic as it gets closer to getting result. Are there any clues when you walk into the room to help you guess the result? Will the consultant be all smiles if it's actually ok or from faced if not good news? Do they give you all the facts and options straight away or do you have to go back? Sorry rambling, am really starting to panic now....
Fingers crossed you get good news with your results Stripey. Jxxx️
I hope your surgeon would tell you straight away - I don't think you can read anything in to facial expressions really as some people are natural smilers regardless. The waiting is the hardest part and I felt like it was psychological torture, but equally I found that distracting myself with tasks and walks, always with company was really helpful. Even yoga and tai chi are quite distracting and there are free pre-recorded classes on you tube - I wasn't in to this before cancer bit have found it really beneficial. I am sorry you are waiting and wish you all the very best for your results on Tuesday x
I'm sorry you had to wait so long for your results. I was told straightaway after the biopsy it was cancer - I wasn't really surprised because the lady doing the ultrasound scan told me she was having a word with the consultant whether she wanted me to have the biopsy or see the consultant. She came back and said they were going to do the biopsy.
I went back to see my consultant two weeks later and today, I'm going for an MRI scan before I see my consultant again for a treatment plan.
Hi. I had my biopsy, results appointment and radiotherapy, all by myself. Nobody was allowed in, due to covid restrictions. I think if the doctor has a breast cancer nurse with him, it's possibly not good news. I had a scare a few years before and the doctor gave me the good news on her own. That's my experience.
Good luck with everything, going forward.
I got seen by a breast care nurse for my biopsy results she asked if I had someone with me and went to fetch my partner in then went to fetch the radiologist in so I new it wasn't good news. But the radiologist put it over in a good way and valid this is treatable we can fix this.
It's probably better to know then at least you can get on with a treatment plan and on the road to recovery
Good luck xx
