Hey All,
I have good ol’ oxaliplatin as part of my treatment plan which I think is fairly common for colorectal cancers. I just wondered if anyone has come up with any good warm drinks to try as I am getting a little bored with warm water, warm squash and herbal teas (in fact - does anyone else think herbal teas smell amazing but definitely do not taste as good as they smell? lol)
Guessing the odd cup of miso or broth is probably good to mix things up a bit. But has anyone got any other suggestions worth a try? Has anyone tried anything with fruit juice? Or any good milk based drinks? Or coconut water? All suggestions very much appreciated
What about the occasional hot chocolate on these cold and misty days.

Hi, I had my first treatment yesterday and I'm craving a cold drink to refresh me but.....I feel sooo hot
Can I pick your brain? Will I feel better in a couple of days or worst? Atm can't imagine being able to leave the house, completely wroung out x
I think it probably depends on the treatment, but I have immunotherapy and FOLFOX (which is over a few days - typically Wed - Friday) and I find I didn’t feel great until the following Wednesday, then start to get progressively better and better. I am on a fortnightly cycle though and am only having cycle three tomorrow - so still learning the patterns, but it definitely does get better - so keep that chin up. Dont worry about a few tired days, snuggle up, get a good book or find some good telly and give your body a chance to fight. Then on your good days, make the most of it - even if all you feel up to is an hour or two - roll with it ….
As for apple tea - I am loving that suggestion
Good luck over the next few days and hopefully you will find a bit of energy returning
xxxx
Thanks for the love and bac-@-ya xx
Also, bird and blend tea is worth looking at have lots of different ideas of making tea with various milks. Bought their mulled cider, rhubarb and custard, and ginger chai teas at the weekend and they actually have flavour.
