Hi

Can anyone tell me if it is possible for bowel cancer to spread within a period of two weeks. I ask this because my husband has just had a diagnosis of recurrant bowel cancer two weeks ago after having an operation back in January this year to have all the cancer removed. The surgeon told us that the cancer is in his stomach lining and showing in his pelvis but I'm really scared in that time waiting to see the oncologist this coming Thursday (7th July) that it may have spread even although the surgeon told us that the new cancer is slow growing. Really worried. Thanks.

Vicky,

  • Yes NHS do best. There is however, resources problems, no doubt leads to delays. I was misdiagnosed over 5 Years by dozens of doctors and specialist s. I guess i was unlucky but it wont save me now.

  • Your loss is awful..I wanted to say that people are never too young to get bowel cancer. Thousands of young people are diagnosed every year.

  • What age are you Tony if you don't mind me asking?

  • My husband is 68. He is just past the age his older brother was when he passed 8 years ago from oespheagal cancer. Apparently he got diagnosed at an advanced stage though. My husband s 2nd diagnosis was picked up at a follow up appointment back in May after a successful operation back in January. They found it through doing a blood test so I am hoping and praying they have caught it in time again to do something.
