As promised !
Bit of a blow today ! Mum got a phone call to say her tumour markers have elevated . Not by much as they never are . Check again in a month then scan if required ! 11years of doing this and she is a veteran for sure . She had picked herself up and was still painting her summer house !
Hi
So sorry to hear you had to go into hospital. Hope your safely home and getting spoilt albeit a bit later .
Your wedding sounded lovely . So nice if everyone to decorate it for you .
Anyway I hope your feeling a bit better .
Managed a few walks and BBQ at the beach . We also seem to be adjusting to face coverings in shops with everyone largely complying apart from one policeman. The young boy behind the desk took a fitf giggles , shook his finger and said “ naughty , naughty “ . We all enjoyed it a bit more than him . Raging
.
Hope you are all coping well ,
Court

Hi Court and VickiLynne,
Thank you both so much for asking after me. Home now, came out last night and it was so nice to sleep in my own bed. You really appreciate you own home (and food) after a spell in hospital.
I am feeling so much better, I came home with 2 injections of filgrastim to help raise the neutrophils and antibiotics to finish the course and make sure any inflammation has gone.
Oncologist assures me it is quite common and may consider tweaking the chemo for next session to try and avoid the same reaction.
I also came home to a shielding letter .. slightly late in the day I think but I have been really careful anyway, and keeping social distances so shouldn't make too much difference .
Your beach bbq sounded lovely Court, did your mum manage to come with you. I love a bbq. You are both so lucky to live near the sea, I know the area well where VickiLynne lives and it is gorgeous, I know you are in Scotland Court but which coast are you on? I spent lots of family holidays on the east coast of Scotland when i was young as Dad was from Bonnie Dundee. When we are able me and my husband are coming up and will scatter a very small amount of Mum and Dad's ashes on Broughty Ferry beach as they spent a lot of time there when they were courting and when they visited Dad's family. We have a flight booked to Edinburgh in February half term as hopefully I will be feeling a bit better by then.
I think the sun is due to shine again later in the week so hopefully will be able to sit in the garden.
Off to have a nap now ... this chemo malarkey takes it out of you.
Take care both and speak soon,
Big hugs xx
Hi Mike (Stwhitm)
What a fabulous picture of Liverpool, is that the Liver birds I spy on the top of the Liver building.
I have only been to Liverpool once about 10 years ago but loved the city and found the people lovely and so friendly.
My daughter was a cheerleader when she was a teenager and competed all around the country, she was competing at the Echo Arena that time and we had a long weekend there and did a lot of the touristy things, including the Eye and the ferry. Lovely area around the docks.
Would love to come back ... it's on our list for after covid.
So pleased you are safely home and feeling better . They are so good at sorting out these events and helping you move forward in your treatment .
Sadly I don’t live beside the sea , my husband grew up by the sea and we headed down the Ayrshire coast for a wee BBQ .
I pass through Dundee several times a year when we go up to our caravan and keep meaning to stop and visit the new Museum. I just love Edinburgh and especially at Christmas when the castle is full of lights in the darkness . Edinburgh does the most amazing firework display. We go the first weekend in December to an amazing Italian restaurant near the Usher Hall then into a concert.
We have actually been exploring more where we live . Lots of lovely countryside and my boys have been kayaking in lochs which to be honest we would have previously headed by .
It has been a long time since I went to the highlands so would like to take a trip at some point there .
Hopefully along the way we will add a bit more to the UK economy!
Today I felt really proud of the younger generation. They all had wee masks on as they headed into the local shops , with hairdressers opening and other none essential shops they lined the streets with balloons etc and the young people were leading the way out and about safely . On the other hand I left our local park , beautiful as it was it was packed .
Hope you are all well ,
Court

Evening, I've taken a short break, so sorry for not wishing you well before now. I am very glad you are home, and good luck with the rest of the chemo. Congratulations on your anniversary despite it being in hospital.
Take care all
HI All,
Thank you all so much for your good wishes. Unfortunately I am back in hospital in ICU. Luckily on a 6 bed room on my own! No covid at our hospital at the moment.
Just as I had finished the oxaliplatin yesterday I had a serious reaction, shivering and shaking and extremely sick. Blood pressure plummeted and temp soared.
Took me from the little hospital where I had the chemo on a blue light to A&E and after a few hrs in resus was taken to icu. Not sure whether it is sepsis, reaction to the chemo or an infection from my picc which they removed. Feel so much better today after lots of antibiotics and drips
This chemo is some awful stuff but if it does it's job then it's something I will have to bear
Having a scan on Monday after 6 sessions and feeling a bit nervous.
Hope you are all ok and keeping well. Your pictures are lovey Court, how nice you managed to get away.
Take Care all and big hugs xxx
Hi
Such a difficult run of things you are having and despite what could only be described as a frightening episode you sound incredibly upbeat . You are built of strong stuff for sure. My WiFi connection is terrible so I will keep it short but my mum only ever had 6 cycles together and it was still powerful . Hope your team get things working in a better direction, although they sound quick to act . Also hope you get home very , very soon .
Take special care ,
Court
